More and more travellers arrive at Vienna Airport in an electric vehicle and want to charge while they park during their trip. The airport offers charging infrastructure at several locations within the parking areas, so a full battery and a secure parking spot go hand in hand.
Chargers in P4 and Lot C
The main charging locations are garage P4 on level 0 and Lot C. Both offer Type 2 charging points, with some stations also providing fast charging via CHAdeMO or CCS connectors. P4 suits travellers who want the shortest walk to the terminal combined with charging, while Lot C offers a more affordable alternative with a slightly longer walk.
Since the number of charging points is limited, it's worth allowing extra time to find a free charger, especially during peak periods such as school holidays or public holidays.
Payment: the TANKE card & more
Charging sessions are usually started and billed via the TANKE card or the relevant charge point operator's app. Many stations also accept cards from other roaming charging networks or payment directly via app or QR code. Exact rates (price per kWh or charging time) are shown at the station or in the app and vary by provider and charging power.
Tip: download the relevant app and set up a payment method before you arrive so charging can start immediately after you park.
Combining parking and charging
For short-term parkers who are only away for a few hours, a full charge usually isn't the priority – proximity to the terminal matters more. For long-term parkers, however, the car can charge for the entire duration of the trip and will be ready with a full battery on return.
